Hi, my name is Jay Young, I am the owner, main photographer, and I guess the chief bottle washer here at Classic Photography. I love photography....I have loved it ever since I saved up for my first camera way back in Junior High. I also love people and documenting them with my camera, I like things that move and tell a story. I just don't take many photos of trees and flowers, nothing wrong them, I just love to document people and their events.

I entered the University of Iowa as a young and breathless journalism major, camera in hand, and I have never looked back. I would rather have a camera in my hand then anything else, except for maybe a thick slab of Zoey's New York Style pizza.

I love weddings and big events, and love that I have been able to share in so many special events for so many families.

And my good friend Josh Smith joined me in 2009 as a photojournalist for all the big weddings. I can't believe the eye this guy has for the story telling candid. His shots are truly award winning. Josh owns and operates Creative Exposure Photography in New London Iowa and I really appreciate him driving up here to the Cedar Rapids area to help out.

I wouldn't be in business if it wasn't for the dedicated help of my mom Sandy Young, I don't know how she is so phenomenally organized.
